Central Otago Wastebusters was established in February 2001.
We employ 12 – 18 paid – part time & Full time staff and 45 – 60 volunteers.
 

We recycle all resources except Green waste.

• Cardboard, paper, all plastic except polystyrene and meat trays
• Metals – all metals
• Household furniture and appliances – sold in our Re-use shop
• Netting from Vineyards
• Vine guards, Bale wraps
• All Farm netting etc

• Kerbside collection is provided in Alexandra, Clyde and Cromwell
• Commercial Business collection service is run throughout Central Otago Region. Maniototo, Roxburgh, Alexandra, Clyde, Cromwell
• Resource Recovery Depot Servicing – Ranfurly, Naseby, Roxburgh, Omakau, Oturehura, Patearoa, Cromwell, Alexandra ( after hours only)
• Composting workshops – worm farms, Bokashi units
• Wasteminimisation Awards – along with Waste Audits and Education to businesses
• Education to children – school visits, supplying bins for recycling to schools
• Re-use shop for the public to shop at and of course drop off un wanted household goods
